This is a two angler / team fishing competition, with no charge registration to all current Rod & Gun Club members. Pick two fishing days within the two week window.  Points are scored for each of your chosen two fishing days.  Winners to be determined by OVERALL point scoring.

Eligible species and points awarded are as follows:

Release only categories…            Maximum of three in each category to be scored as release per team, per fishing day.
·   Sailfish                    100 points
·   Permit                    150 points
·   Tarpon                   100 points
·   Bonefish                 100 points
·   Snook                      50 points
·   Redfish                    50 points

Weight scoring categories…

·   Tuna, Dolphin, Wahoo, Snapper.  1 point per pound.  Maximum of three in each category to be weighed per team, per fishing day.

Swordfish.   Separate category…  1 point per pound.  (Does count as a “fishing day”)

Rules / notes…
·   OFF LIMIT WATERS…  Ocean Reef canals, cooling canals, and dispatch creek.  Aside from those, there are no specific boundaries other than each boat team must depart and return to Ocean Reef waters within a chosen fishing day period.  Lines-in can be 12:01 AM if desired, and lines out as desired.  Note however, the timelines for fish to be weighed and score sheets to be turned in (below).
·   It is the teams choice on which day(s) they choose as “fishing days”.  This, to allow for weather conditions, golf, and honey-do lists not to interfere with participation.  “Fishing Day” is to be defined as the team leaving the dock with the intention of fishing.  There is to be no Mulligans as it pertains to heading out to fish, seeing / catching nothing, and then claiming it as a scouting mission. Teams are considered to be self-governing and on the honor system.
·   There is no minimum or maximum line size, or other tackle restrictions.  Yes, kites are allowed.  In all cases the team angler must be the one to present the bait, hook, and land the fish.  A legal release is defined as when the swivel or knot between line or double line and leader touches the rod tip while still fighting the fish.
·   Combination points are allowed & encouraged.  I.e. you could have a sailfish release, and a Tuna & Dolphin to weigh.  Or, two Tarpon releases along with a Permit, and a legal snapper to weigh.   For those who desire, your team can score from different boat(s).  I. e. Offshore one day, and flats- backcountry on another perhaps. Or, score with a Sailfish in the AM, and score with a Tarpon in the afternoon…   “All-Craft”.

·   Fish in the weight scoring categories are to be brought / weighed at the MarineMax tackle shop specifically between the hours of 3:00 – 4:00 PM on the fishing day in which they were caught.   Each team is responsible for turning in their fully completed score sheets no later than 4:30 PM to the MarineMax tackle shop on the given fishing day.

 ·   Swordfish category is independent from the release & weight scoring categories.  This will be a sole “top achiever” winning team, recognized separately.  A Swordfish winning team will be that which accumulates the highest number of Swordfish points.  Swordfish weigh-in will be open daily, to 4:00 PM and done so at the Fishing Village weigh station, located in the MarineMax / ORC boat storage basin.  Advance notice of a weight fish enroot is requested.

 ·   All fish are to be of legal size to be counted.

 ·   In the event of a scoring tie, the tie breaker will be the team who scored the amount first.  Therefore it is important to note times on the team score sheet.

 ·   A bi-weekly update of team scoring is planned to be noted by group email during the tournament period, along with a scoring board in MarineMax tackle shop.

 ·   Winning teams of first, second, and third places will be notified on April 15th.  Prizes & trophy’s will be awarded to our winners along with bragging rights and Reef Press fame.

ALL teams planning to participate are to submit their completed registration entry form no later than Monday, March 29th, 2021.
