Men’s Night this year was held at the Cooking School with Chef Phillipe demonstrating how to prepare delicious Quail and Elk. Matt Fritter, the event chair, and Nelson Sims delivered a rousing night of jokes, camaraderie and sharing.
The humorous entertainment was a contest of member story telling. Scott Burke won the night with his “colorful” story telling. The other lively joke tellers were Mike Jones, Alan Goldstein and John Turner. And the Sportsman of the Year Award was presented to Joel Shepherd. Joel is one of the most avid bone fisherman at Ocean Reef and a pioneer in fishing Christmas Island and the Seychelles. The Raffle was once again a huge hit thanks to our gracious sponsors: Bill Nutt, Murphy & Sons, Richard Wilson, Mona Brewer, Orvis, Vineyard Vines, Ken Reda and Marine Max. The décor was top shelf with table arrangements by Adelaide Skoglund and Janie Sims. Check out the pictures of Men’s Night below.
Mark your calendar for the Monthly Get Together on Thursday, March 28th 5pm at the Tennis Center Card Room. Lisa Cassidy and Jesus Gudino the new owners of The Dive Shop at The Reef will be presenting their central mission of conservation and protection of ocean waters and the reef system located in the northern portion of the Florida Keys.
