Fish of the Month – Dolphin and Cubera Snapper

The Rod & Gun Club, along with MarineMax, want you to FISH! See the schedule and rules below:
Ocean Reef Rod & Gun Club Fish of the Month.
The contest runs from December 2025 -August 2026. Here’s how it works… Each month two or three species are identified as targets. The Rod & Gun Club member (or family/ house guest) who weighs in the largest of said Pescado during that month, will receive a $250 gift certificate for EACH SPECIES for the MarineMax tackle shop … along with Reef Press notoriety & monumental bragging rights.
Specifics…
• All weigh-ins are to be at MarineMax tackle shop. 7:00 AM – 4:45 PM daily.
• All fish must be of legal size and rod & reel caught. (Swordfish exemption for electric reel)
Target Species are:
December – Mutton Snapper – *Mackerel
January Wahoo – Blackfin Tuna – Seatrout
February – Dolphin – ***Swordfish – **Snapper
March – **Snapper- Cobia – *Mackerel
April – ***Swordfish – Sea Trout – Dolphin
May – Grouper- Dolphin – Sea Trout
June – Dolphin – Hogfish – Tuna {Blackfin – Yellowfin)
July – **Snapper – Dolphin
August – Cubera Snapper – Dolphin
*Includes Kingfish
** Mutton, Mangrove, Yellowtail
